About Kleh

Making better password security easier to understand and easier to use.

Why Kleh exists

A lot of people still use passwords like:

  • 123456
  • password
  • their name + birth year
  • the same password everywhere

Not necessarily because they don't care about security.

For many people, creating a strong password — and understanding what actually makes one strong — is simply inconvenient.

Kleh exists to make that easier.

It provides simple tools that help people create stronger passwords, check the ones they already use, and better understand the basics of password security.

What Kleh does

Generate

Create strong passwords and passphrases directly in your browser.

Kleh lets you generate passwords and passphrases with configurable options, using cryptographically secure randomness provided by your browser.

No need to come up with complicated passwords yourself.

Check

Understand whether a password is weak and learn what makes it stronger.

The Kleh Checker helps you identify weak passwords and understand how factors such as length and character variety affect password strength.

It's designed to make weaknesses easier to recognize, especially for people who may not have a cybersecurity background.

Learn

Understand password security without needing to be a cybersecurity expert.

Kleh isn't only about generating passwords. It's also about helping people understand why some passwords are weak, why length matters, and what better password habits look like.

Our approach

Privacy

Your passwords are personal.

Kleh is designed to keep password generation on your device rather than requiring your passwords to be sent to a server.

Simplicity

Security tools shouldn't require a cybersecurity background to use.

Kleh aims to make password security straightforward and accessible to everyone.

Transparency

There are no magic guarantees when it comes to security.

Kleh aims to clearly explain what its tools do, what they can tell you, and where their limitations are.

No unnecessary accounts

You shouldn't need to create an account just to generate or check a password.

Kleh is designed to be useful without adding unnecessary barriers.

Nothing stored or logged

Passwords entered or generated through Kleh are not intended to be uploaded, stored, or logged.

Browser-side generation

Password generation happens directly in your browser using cryptographically secure randomness through the Web Crypto API.

What's next?

Kleh is still evolving.

Future improvements are being shaped by testing, feedback, and real-world use.

Larger passphrase word list

Expanding the passphrase generator with a larger word list to offer more variety and stronger combinations.

Improved password checker

Continue improving the Checker while keeping its results understandable and useful for non-technical users.

Browser extension

We're working toward a browser extension to make using Kleh easier and more convenient.

More educational material

Add more resources to help people understand practical password security.

Built from feedback

Continue refining Kleh based on user feedback, testing, and real-world use.

Better password habits start with understanding them.

Generate a stronger password, check one you already use, and learn what makes it better.
